Spellings wc7.11.22
Below are your spellings for this week. Please practise those which you got wrong or were not confident with. These spellings are more about learning the rule for moving from singular to plural than the words themselves. Please practice doing this with a range of different words. Please put these into sentences as well as trying a spelling challenge as this will help you remember them.
Plural rules we are working on:
1. Most nouns end in 's'
2. nouns ending in a hissing/buzzing/ shushing sound end in 'es'
3. nouns ending in 'y' change the 'y' in to 'ies' (this is one we really need to work on)
4. many nouns ending in 'o' add 'es' (e.g. potatoes) but newer ones end in just 's' (e.g. radios)
