Well done to all who took part in Sports Day! It was a success and congratulations to Grangewood in winning the Sports Day trophy. 


Next week

Year 5 Trip to Stanborough Park – Friday 27th June 2025

We’re so excited for our upcoming adventure at Stanborough Park Water Sports Centre! This promises to be a fantastic day full of fun, learning and outdoor challenges – but to make the most of it, here are some important things you need to know.

Outdoor activities can get wet and muddy – that’s part of the fun! Please come prepared with the following:

Clothing:

  • Old trainers, wet shoes or crocs (they may get wet – no sandals or flip flops please!)

  • Swimwear and a t-shirt to wear in the water

  • Lightweight waterproof jacket

  • A full change of clothes, including dry socks and underwear

  • A towel (there are changing rooms and showers on site)

Weather extras:

  • On warm days: Sun hat, sun cream and plenty of water

For glasses wearers: Please bring a strap to keep them secure.

  • Wetsuits and buoyancy aids will be provided by the centre.

  • If it’s a warm day, wetsuits might not be required – in this case, a spare change of clothes is essential.

  • You may bring your own wetsuit if you prefer.

 Food & Drink:

Please bring:

  • A nut-free packed lunch

  • Snacks and plenty of drinks
    (Please do not include any nut products – we need to keep everyone safe!)

Where possible, leave valuables at home. 


PSHE: ‘Changing Me’ Topic

From next week, we will begin our Year 5 PSHE topic: Changing Me. I understand you have all received a letter from Miss Y Davis last week outlining the content of these lessons. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the topic further, please don’t hesitate to email me directly.


 Year 5 Project – Create a Quiz! Due Monday 14th July

As part of our end-of-year reflection, the children have been asked to create a Kahoot or another online quiz based on what we’ve learnt this year. The quiz should be a maximum of 15 questions. We’re looking forward to seeing how creative and clever the quizzes will be!

We have had a great day despite the rain. The children have enjoyed learning about life in Britain during WWII. We are also celebrating a birthday today which is very exciting. Now we are off to soft play - see you all tomorrow.  Just a reminder, we will send a text when we are on our way back. When we arrive back you are able to pick your child up before the school day finishes.

As you can see we are having great time at Lincolnsfield. We have had lots of fun, all eaten lots at dinner and enjoyed our evening around the campfire.  I will update the blog tomorrow with some more pictures.

We are very excited to be back at school and have already had a brilliant first two days in Year 5. Everyone has settled in really well, and it feels like we are ready for a fantastic year of learning and fun together. This half term we have a busy timetable, and here are some important things to remember: PE Timetable for Autumn 1 Monday: Football Wednesday: Swimming (this will begin on 17th September 2025 ) Thursday: A short 30-minute PE session – trainers only are needed Please make sure you have the correct PE kit and are ready for each lesson. Homework CGP Books (Maths and English): One piece per week, alternating between the two subjects. I will specify on the blog which topic will be covered and when it is due in.  Reading 5 x 10-minute sessions a week aloud to an adult.
