It has been absolutely wonderful to be back in school this week! I have missed you all so much and it has made me incredibly happy to be reunited with the children. Seeing their smiling faces again has been the perfect welcome back, and it has been lovely to catch up with everyone after my unexpected absence. It was also a pleasure to see so many of you at our rearranged parent consultation meetings this week. Thank you for taking the time to come along.
I would also like to say a huge thank you to all of the staff who did such a fantastic job covering my class while I was off following my emergency surgery. Your kindness, support and hard work are greatly appreciated. Thank you as well to all of our wonderful families for your patience, understanding and the many kind messages of support I received during my recovery. They really did mean a great deal to me.
Next Week
Please remember that school will finish at 1:15pm on Wednesday for the end of term. We will be clapping out our fantastic Year 6 pupils before you collect your children from the main gate.
As part of our Geography topic, I am hoping to take the children on a local litter pick next week. This will be a great opportunity for them to help care for our local environment while putting their learning into practice.
Home Learning Project
The home learning project is due next week. However, if your child has not yet completed their project, please do not worry or start it or rush to finish it. I completely understand that my unexpected absence may have disrupted plans at home, so there is absolutely no pressure to have completed this project.
For those children who have completed their project, please bring it into school on Monday. I can't wait to see all of the fantastic work that has been produced.
A Final Thank You
As we come to the end of another school year, I would like to thank all of our parents and carers for your continued support throughout the year. It has been a genuine privilege to teach such a kind, funny and hardworking class. They have made me smile every single day, and I feel incredibly proud of everything they have achieved.
Although I will miss them very much, I know they are more than ready for the exciting challenges that await them in Year 6. I wish every one of them the very best of luck and every success for the future.
Have a wonderful summer, and thank you once again for all your support.
