9.5.23

 Year 5,

Last week you had an unusual but busy week. Many of you spent the week completing your cycling proficiency. Well done to those of you who passed and for those who didn't pass this time, remember that contact details for 1:1 and group sessions were left at the office if you wish to work on this. When you were not on your bikes, you were continuing to write your chapters inspired by 'The Nowhere Emporium' in English, working on translation and reflection in maths, and securing your understanding of 1st Aid in PSHE.

This week we have our residential! The weather is looking a little wet so please make sure that you pack accordingly as we will still be going outside. You are required to be at school at the usual time on Wednesday and we will be back before the end of the school day on Friday. I will be updating the blog each evening so that your adults can see what you have been up to.

Half term project – Masters of Maths

This half term, your project is to create a game for your classmates to play which covers areas of maths that we have learnt about in class. This game could be created online, could be a quiz, or could be a board game (or a more creative idea if you have one).

You can focus on one topic or a range of maths which we have covered, such as: place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, shape, nets, fractions, decimals, percentages, area, perimeter, translation and reflection, or angles.

Please ensure that you bring your game to school by Monday 22nd  May as we will be playing them sometime that week.

I hope you have had a lovely long weekend.

Mrs Cresswell
