Hello all,

We’ve been making the most of the sunshine and our very own school swimming pool. The children have thoroughly enjoyed their daily swimming sessions—there’s been so much enthusiasm, progress, and plenty of smiles along the way! It’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow in the water, and we’re incredibly proud of how hard they’ve worked.

On dry land, we’re just as thrilled to report that all the children have successfully completed their Bikeability training! With helmets fastened and handlebars steady, they tackled the challenges brilliantly, demonstrating excellent road awareness, bike control, and a great sense of responsibility. Every single pupil passed with flying colours—what an achievement!

Next week we are trying to give the children some PE sessions. Please can the children have their kits in on Tuesday and Friday.

The children will continue their swimming lessons during school time. These will take place daily, so it’s really important that your child brings their full swimming kit to school every day. Here’s a quick checklist of what they’ll need:

Swimming costume

Swimming hat – this is mandatory. Fabric hats are often easier for children to manage, but the choice is yours.

Goggles

Towel

Pool shoes – for walking between the changing room and pool

Bath robe or dressing gown – optional, but recommended for warmth

A bag to store wet swimwear

Please make sure everything is clearly labelled so we can avoid any lost property

Home Learning Project

Our home-learning project this half term is a personal diary as we are learning about the story of Anne Frank and her diary in English. I’ve asked the children to try to write in their diary most days. This is a more personal project than usual, so it won’t be shared with the class unless your child chooses to. If they’d like to bring their diary in to show or tell us about it, we’ll be having a sharing opportunity during the week commencing Monday 19th May.

As always, please ensure your child is completing their regular home learning:

At least 1 hour of Sumdog per week

10 minutes of reading aloud each day
