22/05/2026
On Monday, Year 5 were incredibly lucky to welcome a very special STEM visitor, Sarah, who came in to speak to the children about her work at ESA and the James Webb Space Telescope. The children were completely fascinated and asked some brilliant questions throughout the session. Sarah shared lots of exciting information about space exploration, scientific discoveries and what it is like to work in such an important field.
It was wonderful to see the children so engaged and inspired — there were certainly lots of future scientists and engineers in the room! A huge thank you to Sarah for giving up her time to visit us and help bring STEM learning to life for the children. We are very grateful for such a memorable experience.
A huge congratulations to all of the children for completing the Oakmere Mini-Marathon today! The children showed fantastic determination, resilience and enthusiasm throughout the event and should all feel very proud of themselves. It was lovely to see everyone encouraging one another and taking part with such positive attitudes. Well done, Year 5!

Arrival & Collection Information
Children should arrive at school at the normal time on the morning of departure.
When we return to school on Friday afternoon (before the end of the school day), we will send a text message to parents/carers. Children may then be collected from school upon our return, meaning they can leave before the usual end-of-day time.
Rooms & Accommodation
All children will be staying within one accommodation unit, with separate sides for boys and girls. The children will stay in dormitory-style rooms and will find out who they are sharing with on the day. Children will need to make their own beds when they arrive. Bedding will be provided. There will also be a common room for the children to relax and spend time together during the evenings.

It is hard to believe that we have already reached half term and only have one more left before the summer holidays — and then Year 6! This year really is flying by. The children have worked incredibly hard this half term and should all feel very proud of what they have achieved, both academically and personally. Thank you, as always, for your continued support. I hope you all have a wonderful, restful half term and enjoy the break!
