Good afternoon and happy Friday! 


Next Thursday afternoon is our KS2 Sports Day! The children are looking forward to an exciting afternoon of races, team events and plenty of sporting fun. Please ensure your child brings their PE kit to school and has a named water bottle, sun hat and sun cream if the weather is warm. Families are very welcome to come along and support the children. In the event of bad weather, our reserve day will be Friday afternoon. We are keeping our fingers crossed for sunshine and a fantastic afternoon of sport!


Summer PE Timetable 

PE will take place on:

  • Monday – 1 hour
  • Wednesday – 1 hour
  • Friday – 30 minutes

Home Learning Project – Around the World!

For our next home learning project, you are invited to become country experts! I would like you to choose any country in the world (excluding England) and present your learning in any way you wish. This could be a poster, fact file, model, piece of artwork, presentation, scrapbook, video, or even by making and sharing a traditional food from their chosen country. The aim is to research and celebrate the culture, geography, landmarks, wildlife, traditions and people of their chosen nation. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup taking place this summer, children may even wish to link their project to a country competing in the tournament and explore its footballing history and traditions. I am looking forward to seeing the children's creativity, enthusiasm and unique ideas brought to life!

We are very excited to be back at school and have already had a brilliant first two days in Year 5. Everyone has settled in really well, and it feels like we are ready for a fantastic year of learning and fun together. This half term we have a busy timetable, and here are some important things to remember: PE Timetable for Autumn 1 Monday: Football Wednesday: Swimming (this will begin on 17th September 2025 ) Thursday: A short 30-minute PE session – trainers only are needed Please make sure you have the correct PE kit and are ready for each lesson. We have had a great day despite the rain. The children have enjoyed learning about life in Britain during WWII. We are also celebrating a birthday today which is very exciting. Now we are off to soft play - see you all tomorrow.  Just a reminder, we will send a text when we are on our way back. When we arrive back you are able to pick your child up before the school day finishes.

Our first full week together was wonderful and packed full of learning! I also wanted to thank you all for making me feel very special on my birthday - it was a great day! (I hope your hands are okay after clapping 33 times in assembly)  This week's CGP homework has been set. Please complete page 11 and bring your book back in next Friday (19th) to mark.
