Goodbye Year 5!

 As we come to the end of another school year, I just wanted to say one final thank you.

Year 5, you have been a very, very special class to me, and it has been a genuine privilege and pleasure to be your teacher. Watching each of you grow in confidence, develop your talents and support one another has been incredibly rewarding. You have made me smile every single day, and I couldn't have asked for a better class.

I would also like to say a huge thank you to all of the parents and carers for your kindness and support throughout the year. I am so grateful for the incredibly generous gifts, thoughtful cards and lovely messages. Your kind words truly mean so much to me and are something I will always remember.

To my wonderful class, thank you for making this year so special. I will genuinely miss each and every one of you. Although it's time for you to begin your next adventure in Year 6, I know you will all continue to work hard, be kind and make yourselves proud. I wish you every success for next year, and please remember that I am always here if you ever need any support.

I hope you all have a safe, happy and restful summer, filled with lots of fun, laughter and wonderful memories.

I already miss you all.

We are very excited to be back at school and have already had a brilliant first two days in Year 5. Everyone has settled in really well, and it feels like we are ready for a fantastic year of learning and fun together. This half term we have a busy timetable, and here are some important things to remember: PE Timetable for Autumn 1 Monday: Football Wednesday: Swimming (this will begin on 17th September 2025 ) Thursday: A short 30-minute PE session – trainers only are needed Please make sure you have the correct PE kit and are ready for each lesson. Homework CGP Books (Maths and English): One piece per week, alternating between the two subjects. I will specify on the blog which topic will be covered and when it is due in.  Reading 5 x 10-minute sessions a week aloud to an adult. Lincolnsfield Day 2

What a fantastic second day we have had at Lincolnsfield! Today was our much-anticipated Children at War day. The children spent the day learning about what life was like for children living in Britain during the Second World War. The children were fully engaged throughout the day, asked some excellent questions and showed a real interest in understanding this important period of history. This evening, we had originally planned to enjoy a campfire. However, the weather had other ideas and, with the rain setting in, we decided to give it a miss. Thankfully, Lincolnsfield came to the rescue and the children were treated to another session in the soft play are a instead. To say they were pleased would be an understatement! I must confess that even I had a go and thoroughly enjoyed the Rainbow Drop Slide . I can neither confirm nor deny whether I went down it more than once, but I can confirm that it was great fun!
