Year 5,
We have had another very busy week. In maths you have
problem solved and multiplied with fractions. In English, you have begun
writing some very persuasive letters as Earth to humans, and you applied this
to your learning on copyright in ICT. You considered watercolour techniques in
art, material changes in science and foods in Spanish. You also participated in
a very informative STEM talk about jobs themed around space and began learning
the dances for the play in PE.
Next week, you will finish writing your letters and will
continue working with fractions in maths. You will have a chance to share your
home-learning projects in the afternoons, and will spend the others on dreams
and goals in PSHE, online safety in ICT and the Vikings in history.
Remember:
- You must be signed up to attend clubs
- Auditions are on Monday lunchtime
- Your project is due on Monday
- Swimming is on Wednesday
- Reading – please ensure that you read 5
times a week and record this in your Reading Journal. You MUST have your
reading book and journal in school every day
- Spellings – please practise putting
spellings into sentences. These are set on TEAMs as well as
shared on the blog.
- TimesTables Rockstars and SumDog – Please
practise on these as it is crucial that you maintain your learning knowledge –
these games help you to maintain what you have already learnt and maybe learn a
little before we begin in class
Have a lovely weekend.
Miss Huntley 😊
