Happy New Year all! 

I hope you all had a wonderful break. Thank you all so much for your kind cards and gifts over Christmas - I really, really appreciate it. 

I have given the children some maths calculations to solve at home to help them before our lessons next week. Please try your best to solve these over the weekend. 

The children have been busy making bread today - I hope you enjoy this over the weekend. The children will be filling out evaluation forms for this on Monday. 


PE Timetable NEW 

Monday 1hr (Football).

Wednesday - 30 mins (trainers only). 

Thursday 1 hr (Full kit)


Next week 

Maths -  Multiplying 2-digit numbers by 2, 3 and 4 digits. 

English - We will be starting our new topic on The Lost Thing by Shaun Tan.

Science - Investigating materials which are good thermal insulators. 

PSHE - To compare our lives  with people in the developing world

Art - Sketching people. 

History - To find out about the Viking invasions of Britain.

Computing - Coding Micro:bits. 

D&T - Bread evaluation. 


Half Term Project - Developing Confident Presenters -  Due Monday 10th February

This half term, I would like to focus on helping the children enhance their presenting skills. To achieve this, I would like them to create a short presentation—whether it’s a PowerPoint or another format—on a topic they’re passionate about. The goal is for them to speak confidently for approximately three minutes, sharing their enthusiasm and knowledge with their peers. Our emphasis will be on their delivery, clarity, and building self-assurance when presenting to an audience. I would like EVERYONE to take part.

Lincolnsfields 2024 Day 1

 We have had a fun packed first day here at Lincolnsfields. We arrived in glorious sunshine and it continued throughout the day. We began with a quick talk about the safety requirements and expectations and then went straight into an activity. We were orienteering, using maps to get to know the site. The children solved a range of riddles (they were better at this than some of the adults!)  After this, it was lunchtime. We then headed to the woods where we were taken on a walk through them – including some muddy bits. The children then took part in team building challenges in the woodland. They completed ‘The Floor is Lava’ using boards to cross the lava, and ‘The Wind Game’ where they worked together to reach between 2 trees (some were rather a stretch). The children then played Zombies vs Humans and finally returned to the main buildings where they were told their rooms. Happy Friday all,  We have had a very Christmassy day today. Rehearsing for Tuesday's Carol Concert, eating a Christmas dinner and watched Inside Out 2 in the hall.  Just to remind you next Friday we finished a 1pm. Wednesday after school is open evening.  Our KS2 party is Thursday afternoon (during school). Please bring your party clothes.  Your project is due in on Monday.  Here is the  Music for Carol Concert  link for you to practise at home! PE Timetable  NEW Monday 1hr (Football). Wednesday - 1hr PE - kit needed.  Thursday trainers only. Half Term Project - Create a board game I would like the children to create a board game, card game or quiz about any and all topics we have covered this year or in previous years. Lincolnsfields Day 2

 Today was a very busy day with lots of new experiences! After a fairly decent night's sleep, the children were up and out for breakfast at 9am. This was after playing a few games and enjoying balloons as it was one of the children’s birthdays. After breakfast, they participated in 3 Children at War activities. They visited a wartime house and learnt about the different tools, toys and activities in that period. They went into a wartime ‘Digging for Victory’ garden, where they saw an Anderson Shelter and then had the job of putting out an incendiary device which had fallen onto a roof – this required a lot of hard work with a stirrup pump. They also visited a Blitz experience where they learnt about the Blitz from a gentleman who was a child at the time. They learnt about his first hand experiences before then attending a museum on the time.
